Five Rights & Brands represented authors and illustrators nominated for the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award 2023

Rights & Brands represented authors and illustrators Linda Bondestam, Jenny Lucander, Salla Savolainen (FIN), Jujja Wieslander and Sven Nordqvist (SWE) have been nominated for the prestigious children’s and young adult literature award, The Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award. 

The Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award (ALMA) is the world’s greatest award for children’s and young adult literature. The list of nominees includes a vast variety of authors, illustrators, oral storytellers and reading promoters. The aim of the award is to promote interest in children’s and young adult literature with a glorious collection of wonderful nominees. 

Rights & Brands represent Linda Bondestam, Jenny Lucander and Salla Savolainen with focus on publishing and Jujja Wieslander and Sven Nordqvist with focus on licensing. Läsrörelsen, an organization that is part of Read Hour, have also been nominated for the award.

The Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award was created in 2002 by the Swedish government to promote every child’s right to great stories. This global award is given annually to a person or organisation for their outstanding contribution to children’s and young adult literature. With a prize of five million Swedish kronor, it is the largest award of its kind. Administrated by the Swedish Arts Council. The New laurate will be announced in the spring 2023.
