Thumbkin and Dollie

By Inger and Lasse Sandberg

Thumbkin is a classic Swedish character that explores the world through childlike interest and wonder. The character was created in 1978 from the thumbprint of Lasse Sandberg, inspiring the creators to illustrate and write books dedicated to the adventures of the little Thumbkin.  This little collection comprises of three Thumbkin stories: Thumbkin and Dollie Chase the Rainbow (Tummen och Dockis jagar en bro) Dollie Squeaks in the Forest (Dockis piper i skogen) Thumbkin and Dollie Go to the Beach (Tummen och Dockis går till stranden) These delightful stories perfectly portray how smaller children may pick up the little natural wonders that surround us. Be it a rainbow, a mushroom, or a shadow, these Thumbkin stories show how truly fascinating the surrounding world can be as they would be perceived by smaller children.  Thumbkin celebrates its 45th anniversary in 2023.
