Skultuna’s Moomin line was launched in 2021
The Collaboration
Skultuna describes its Moomin line as “the Moomin figurines of the 2020’s” The first series consisted of eight gold-plated figurines of some of the most beloved characters created by Tove Jansson; Moomintroll, Snorkmaiden, Little My, Moominpappa, Moominmamma, Sniff, Snufkin & Stinky. The figurines are made of plated steel, making them timeless and long-lasting.
The first Skultuna x Moomin series was released in April 2021. Since then Skultuna has continued to grow the set, continuously adding more characters and special editions, such as Moomintroll and Little My in sterling silver. In 2022, Skultuna also added jewelry to the Moomin line.
In 2023. Skultuna introduced a lantern inspired by the iconic Moominhouse. Designed by James Zambra, the creative director of Moomin Characters and the great-nephew of Tove Jansson, the lantern is a beautiful interior complement to the Moomin figurines.
Results
The first batch of the Skultuna x Moomin figurines collection sold out in a matter of hours after launch. The collection has been hugely successful and is continuously evolving every year.
The collaboration was also nominated in the 2022 Licensing International Excellence Awards in the Home Décor category.
