About Sam Wilde
Rather unusually, Sam Wilde made the switch to being an artist in his mid-twenties. Wilde previously worked on a trading desk in London’s financial sector. With no prior art & design qualifications or formal training, Sam dedicated his time outside office hours to teaching himself how to draw and paint.
Wilde’s artistic pursuit gained momentum after a pivotal moment at his desk. An internet search led him to the Royal College of Art, where he audaciously submitted a portfolio. Sam was accepted, trading his corporate suit on Friday for a whole new life the following Monday— and he hasn’t looked back since.
With an impressive roster of collaborations—including Adobe, Apple, Nvidia, Liberty, and the legendary design house Svenskt Tenn—Sam’s work has already earned international acclaim. His exhibitions have traveled across Asia and Europe, further solidifying his reputation as an artist of global appeal.
Homes & Gardens Award
In 2025, Wilde received a Homes & Gardens Award. ’Eden Tree in White’ from the Rebel Walls x Sam Wilde collection, Newtopia, won Best Bold Design in Wallpapers.
The Homes & Gardens team and a distinguished panel of industry judges reviewed all entries carefully, and Wilde’s work has been recognized as an exceptional example of outstanding design in 2025.

Collaboration with Svenskt Tenn
Sam Wilde has had four collaborations with iconic Swedish brand Svenskt Tenn. Including two record-breaking Christmas collections Fruits of Eden and Flowers of Eden, as well as the release of the much beloved printed textile Hubris Tree.
International Exhibitions
Deepstaria Umbra, England
Sam Wilde was commissioned by the Victoria & Albert Museum to create an eco-conscious sculpture constructed from umbrellas donated by the TfL Lost Property Office for their Japan: Myths to Manga exhibition.
A commentary on the growing threat of mining exploitation and plastic pollution on the deep sea environment. Deepstaria umbra is a fully mechanised biosynthetic lifeform born from the fusion between a deep sea jellyfish and six discarded umbrellas that floated to the ocean’s floor.
Pollution Palace, China
Sam Wilde collaborated with both the municipals of Zhuhai and Jinan, China to create a series of street art sculptures themed around the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil from the garden of Eden.
This reimagined rendition of Eden plays on the tension between the organic and the man-made. Envisioning a world where artificial fertilisers and genetically-modified crops have leaked into the ecosystem and ‘super-charged’ the environment. Causing the fruits and flowers of paradise to undergo a remarkable transformation and proliferate in abundance.
