Stig Lindberg – a Swedish Design Classic
Stig Lindberg remains one of Sweden’s most beloved designers, renowned for his playful and timeless patterns. In Ekelund’s latest textile collection, his artistry finds a new form—woven fabric. These exclusive pieces are the only woven products featuring Stig Lindberg’s designs, combining his iconic aesthetic with Ekelund’s long-standing tradition of craftsmanship.

A Fusion of Tradition and Innovation
The designs used on the Stig Lindberg by Ekelunds products were originally used on porcelain, textiles and ceramics and is now featured on kitchen textiles such as table runners, towels, pillowcases and placemats.
According to Ekelund, a lot of thought goes into picking which pattern to collaborate with. “Choosing the right pattern is about combining culture, function, and aesthetics to create a product that feels both beautiful and practical in everyday life.”

Herbarium – A Celebration of Nature
The Herbarium pattern was created by Stig Lindberg in 1947. Initially featured on fabric, it is now available in various color variations across different product types. It features a vibrant and intricate design inspired by nature’s botanical forms. This pattern, with its colorful and playful depiction of plants, is a celebration of the beauty found in natural elements.
Berså – A Scandinavian Modernist Classic
Berså is the most famous pattern by Stig Lindberg. This design is instantly recognizable for its repeating motif of green, birch tree leaves arranged in a symmetrical pattern against a white background. The simplicity and freshness of the design capture the essence of Scandinavian modernism.
Linnéa – A Tribute to Carl von Linné
Linnéa is a pattern created for Gustavsberg porcelainware in 1965. The pattern consists of flowers inspired by the famous Swedish botanist Carl von Linné, also known as the father of modern taxonomy.
Karneval – Whimsical and Expressive
Karneval was a pottery collection produced from 1957 to 1962 by the Gustavsberg Porcelain factory. the Karneval artwork showcases Lindberg’s signature characters, which are also recognizable from his textile designs and children’s book illustrations.
