Thumbkin (Tummen) is a cartoon character created by Inger and Lasse Sandberg. Thumbkin is drawn from a thumbprint and is the main character in several books and short films for young children. Thumbkin lives with his mother in a small house in a meadow.

About Inger and Lasse Sandberg
Swedish cartoonist and illustrator Lasse Sandberg and teacher and author Inger Sandberg met in the 1950s and started their successful collaboration as a creative team and married couple. Outside the Nordic, they are probably best known for their books about Little Anna and Little Ghost Laban. Together Inger and Lasse wrote and illustrated over 100 books and have been nominated and awarded several prestigious prizes, including the Astrid Lindgren prize and Elsa Beskow plaque.
Lasse Sandberg passed away in 2008, and Inger Sandberg passed away in 2023. To this day, they are still considered two of Sweden’s most popular illustrators and children’s book authors.
New Film Premiered in 2024
In October 2024, a remastered version of the Thumbkin film Tummen och Tummens Mamma premiered in Swedish cinemas.
