This book introduces readers to Leo the Lion who is having a day where he only says no! He is not in the mood for anything as everthing seems to go wrong and not his way. His breakfast is wrong, he should wear uncomfortable pants outside, and he can’t eat a delicious pastry during a picnic. Why can’t Leo himself decide about things?

A heartfelt and real picture book about little Leo coming to terms with new emotions, learning new skills and pushing his boundaries. Temper tantrums are not always the way to get what you want!

“It was so difficult to know what one was really able to do.”

Reviews

"A traditional picture book due to both its length and complex storyline. The defiant lion is strong-willed…Pirhonen covers the everlasting feeling of will from a child’s perspective but in a stubborn manner, gently led by a calm adult. The color scale of the illustration is as from a print by Marimekko, and the considered use of wax chalk brings the right amount of rugged and roughness to its surface."

Kuvittaja Magazine

"A lovingly illustrated story about the need for children to be independent."
