The JerryMaya Detective house opens next week

The wait is finally over. LasseMajas Deckarhus, “The JerryMaya Detective house” is close to being finished and only some small details are left before this destination filled with mysteries opens for all curious detectives. Watch the video below for a complete tour!

The new detective house is based on the JerryMaya Detective Agency stories, created by author Martin Widmark and illustrator Helena Willis. The house is located in Linköping, Sweden and here you will step into the small town of Valleby and help Lasse and Maja solve various detective puzzles and missions.

“It feels exiting and incredibly fun”, says Magnus T Wetterö, CEO of LasseMajas Deckarhus.

The construction has been going on for about one year and on February 17 the house will open its doors. The destination is mainly aimed at children between the age of 4 to 14 years old, but Wetterö explains that the target group is much wider than that.

“We see the Detective house as the perfect family activity where no need of previous knowledge of the JerryMaya Detective Agency is needed, but for the real fans it will of course be something extra.”

An intense journey

A lot of hours and long days are behind the work of getting the Detective house finished.

“It’s been an intense journey, but now we are finally at the finish line. It feels amazing to finally be able to share with everyone what we have been working on”, says Magnus Wetterö, who also highlights the other activities that will be around the Detective house. “The whole neighborhood, the old part of Linköping, has so much to offer and other than visiting the house to solve mysteries you can also visit us to grab a coffee or shop in our café and store.”

The café and shop will be open on traditional hours, while the visiting hours for the mysteries are booked online on Deckarhuset’s webpage. Each group is set for 3-5 participants. In total, there are three mysteries to choose from and the group will do one mystery per visit.

Martin Widmark, the author of the stories about Jerry and Maya, is also eager for the opening.
“Old Linköping is very reminiscent of the town Valleby in the JerryMaya Detective stories and it will be so fun to see how the detectives will tackle the mysteries.”

LasseMajas Deckarhus opens on February 17 and tickets are already available for booking on www.lassemajasdeckarhus.se
