Sarah Sheppard Collection by Polarn O. Pyret
Background
In 2021, Polarn O. Pyret started collaborating with children’s book author Sarah Sheppard on design. The first collection was based on Sheppard’s popular books about dinosaurs. Thanks to Sheppard, both adults and children have become experts on dinosaurs, sharks, and forest animals.
Polarn O. Pyret wants to encourage reading and the time you spend together with your children by reading, and that’s why they feel that Sarah Sheppard was a perfect collaboration partner for their apparel.

Timeline
The first collection based on the dinosaur books by Sheppard, was launched in November 2021. The second collection, based on Sharks (Hajar) and Animals in the Sea (Djuren I have), was launched in the spring of 2022.
The Collaboration
Together, Polarn O. Pyret and Sarah Sheppard created a unique and colorful unisex apparel collection for children, inspired by the Sheppard’ popular books. Just as Sheppard’s illustrations, the apparel and accessories are vibrant and educational. Some of the innovative prints go all around the pieces and others has a 3D effect with texture so that you can feel them. On a yellow sweatshirt in the Dino Deluxe collection you can lift a part of the dinosaur to reveal the anatomy of it underneath.
– Martina Wernemar, assortment and production manager at Polarn O. PyretSarah’s aesthetic is fantastic, and this limited collection is an homage to her playful and colorful illustrations. Together, we have created a collection of high quality that lasts a long time and can be inherited further. We hope that these garments will become favorites in children’s closets.
Results
The Saraj Sheppard Dinosaur collection was a huge hit with some items selling out the first day of launching. Polarn O. Pyret loved working with Sheppard and launched their second collection “Animals in the sea” the next season.
