Sofie Sarenbrant is Sweden’s best-selling crime author in 2023
The release of the annual top lists of 2023 book sales (including streaming) brings wonderful news for author Sofie Sarenbrant.
The eleventh book in the acclaimed crime series about detective Emma Sköld, The Parasite (Parasiten), by Sarenbrant is the best-selling crime book of the year. The book was also the third most-sold fiction book. In The Parasite, Sofie Sarenbrant portrays themes such as revenge, hurtful sibling relationships and a family tragedy with catastrophic consequences.
The tenth book The Soulmate (Själsfränden), released in 2022 is number one on the grocery store list, and the Emma Sköld series is placed second on the book series list. The suspense novel The Birthday (Födelsedagen) by Sofie Sarenbrant and Carina Bergfeldt is in seventh place on the crime and suspense list.
The book sales statistics include sales via physical bookstores, online bookstores, book clubs, grocery stores, and digital subscription services. The report is a collaboration between the Swedish Booksellers Association and the Swedish Publishers Association.
