The Birthday honoured at Bokförlaget Forum’s Golden Book Gala

Last night The Birthday was one of the thirteen celebrated titles at Bokförlaget Forum’s Golden Book Gala. The 10-year tradition highlights titles that have reached a wide readership and exceptional sales in Sweden, in all available book formats.

We are thrilled to share that the The Birthday (Födelsedagen) was honoured with a Platinum Book. The book has sold more than 200,000 copies within two years since its publication. Last year The Birthday received a Golden Book for having sold more than 100,000 copies.

The Birthday is the first part of the suspense series by the award-winning Swedish author duo Sofie Sarenbrant and Carina Bergfeldt. The critically acclaimed psychological thriller with an intense, fast-paced story about a missing child keeps the reader glued to the page. The first instalment has topped the sales charts since its publication and been praised by the press. It was also nominated for the 2023 Adlibris Prize. So far translation rights have been sold in Danish (People’s Press), Estonian (Kirjastus Pegasus), Finnish (WSOY) and Norwegian (Cappelen Damm).
