Akademibokhandeln’s new design collaboration features the works of Carl and Karin Larsson
At the beginning of May, Akademibokhandeln will launch their big design collaboration of the year: an exclusive collection with a wide range of products with motifs by Carl and Karin Larsson. The series is developed in collaboration with the publisher Bookmark, The Carl Larsson Estate and Rights & Brands.
In this collaboration with the Carl Larsson estate, customers will find motifs from Carl Larsson and art from textiles by Karin Larsson on products such as notebooks, puzzles and calendars under Akademibokandeln’s private label “Kollektion Stora A”. Akademibokhandeln is a part of Bokusgruppen has about 100 shops in Sweden, and an online shop on akademibokhandeln.com.
The chosen designs on the products are mainly from the paintings “Sommar i Sundborn”, “Trädgårdsscen från Marsstrand” and Karin’s textile pattern “Kaninblomster”.

Carl and Karin Larsson were active in Sweden at the turn of the century. Their art worked in strong symbiosis, as Karin created the textiles and environments that Carl depicted in his paintings. Through their art, Carl & Karin became two of Sweden’s most famous creators.
– To be able to design and produce these products in Akademibokandeln’s design collaboration with motifs by Carl & Karin Larsson is a milestone for Bookmark. Attaching such an inspiring project to a leading title such as ‘Ett hem: Carl & Karin Larssons värld’ creates a unique chance to reach out, says Bookmark’s Publishing Manager Claes Ericson.
Akademibokhandeln has previously done licensing collaborations with designers such as Efva Attling and Lisa Larson. The collaborations are a way to highlight Swedish design and surprise and inspire customers with unique motifs that are only available for a limited time.
The Carl & Karin Larsson products will be available exclusively in Akademibokhandeln’s stores and at akademibokhandeln.se from May 4.
