Kai Erik receives Finlandspris for his authorship that “sharply penetrates the labyrinths of the psyche”

We congratulate our author Kai Erik who has today received Finlandspris 2018 for “his authorship that sharply penetrates the labyrinths of the psyche, reveals how difficult it is for us humans to communicate with each other, and how cruel the consequences can be when we keep silent, suppress and deny.
Kai Erik plays with literary genres, and also with readers: they are first drawn in to a familiar context, but in the next moment thrown into the terrifying world of the supernatural.”

Kai Erik (real name Kaj Korkea-aho) is the author of three novels, including the international success The Evil Book (Onda boken), and most recently the co-author of the hilarious series The Zoo about the everyday life of a teenage boy.
He is one of the most talented and distinguished authors of his generation writing in Swedish in Finland. He is also a comedian and regularly performs on radio, TV and stage, as well as a popular columnist and a playwright for both theatre and radio.

Finlandpris is given out by the Swedish cultural foundation “Längmanska kulturfonden”.
