Moomin Paper Art Installation on Display at NK in Stockholm and Gothenburg
Nordiska Kompaniet, commonly known as NK, has unveiled its new shopping windows featuring four unique Moomin 80 installations in Stockholm and Gothenburg, Sweden.
A Rich Legacy of Moomin at NK
Since its establishment in 1902, NK has been one of Scandinavia’s premier luxury department stores. The store has a long history with Tove Jansson and the Moomin brand, having been involved in the early commercialization of the Moomin phenomenon in the 1950s. Now, NK celebrates the Moomin 80th anniversary with exclusive installations, product launches, and a special treasure hunt in the store.

A Glimpse Inside the New Moomin Pop-Up Book
The installations are large-scale versions of scenes from the upcoming pop-up book. In a behind-the-scenes video, Elena Selena explains her creative process, noting, “We knew that we had four windows available, so we needed to restrain the scenes. So I actually chose all of the pages except the sea journey, for the simple reason that I wanted to keep the color palette pretty restrained.”

Interactive Installations Inside NK
Inside the Nordiska Kompaniet warehouse, visitors can also enjoy a large Moominhouse and a floral arch adorned with the Moomin 80 logo—a perfect photo backdrop for fans.
When and Where to Visit
The Moomin 80 window installations can be viewed on Regeringsgatan at NK Stockholm and will soon debut at NK in Gothenburg. The displays will remain open to the public until January 19, 2025.
