Kollektivet exhibition takes the stage in the capital of Finland

Last Thursday evening children’s culture was in the spotlight as the Kollektivet exhibition opened in Kunsthalle in the city centre of Helsinki.

Kunsthalle Helsinki has presented art to the public in its beautiful art venue since 1928. For the next month museum visitors have a chance to step into the world of picture book art and experience the visual universe of ten leading and award-winning illustrators from Finland. The exhibition shares behind-the-scenes glimpses of the creative process of each artist from the first sketches to the final works. One of the highlights of the exhibition is a mural created jointly by the group of illustrators. Visitors also have a chance to be creative themselves in the children’s art workshop located in the exhibition area. A cosy reading corner with children’s books offers a moment for deeper exploration.
