A special pre-opening of the official Moomin online shop in Japan during December
Last week the official Moomin shop in Japan had a special pre-opening just in time for the holidays. On the opening day on December 1st, the shop was so highly visited that the servers broke down. The special pop-up shop will be open during twenty days in December.
The Moomin official shop Japan will, in cooperation with Moomin Characters Ltd, have its grand opening in Japan in March, 2022. It will have the same look and atmosphere as the official stores in Finland and will offer a variety of Moomin products, such as online exclusive products, Moominvalley Park items and imported Scandinavian goods.
Pop-up shop for the holidays gathered a huge number of visitors
As it is holiday season, a special pre-opening was made last week so that fans could get the perfect Moomin gifts. The launch of the store was so popular that during the premiere day the servers broke down for a short period due to the large number of visitors.
About 400 kinds of carefully selected Moomin goods is available in the store, including several Moominvalley Park limited-edition items. The Moomin official shop Japan is the first store outside of the park to offer Moominvalley Park limited-edition items, and the lineup meets the expectations of not only Moomin fans but also those who have yet to visit the park.
One of the Moominvalley Park items is the exclusive Arabia mug that so far has only been available for purchase in the park.
Plush toys sold exclusively at Moominvalley Park are available in the Mommin official shop Japan. In addition to the popular “Angry Face Moomin” and “Nervous Face Moomin”, there will also be a new Snufkin plush toy. Snufkin will go on sale at the park from December 10th, but is already available for pre-sale at https://shop.moomin.co.jp/
Fans that sign up for a membership will get a coupon to Moominvalley Park to visit the Winter Festival 2021
During the period which the pop-up shop is open, all the fans that register as a member of the Moomin official shop Japan will receive a 1,000 yen off coupon for a 1-day pass to Moominvalley Park. Moominvalley Park, which will reopen on December 10, 2021, will hold a “Winter Festival” until February 27, 2022, during which time the coupon will apply.
The special Moomin pop-up shop will be open until midnight, December 20, 2021. The official shop will have its grand opening on March 1st, 2022.
