Moomin 80th Anniversary Exhibition: Tove Jansson’s Forest of Art Open in Hong Kong

Tove Jansson’s Forest of Art is the first event in Hong Kong to commemorate the Moomin 80 anniversary. The exhibition is open at ASCE Gallery, Harbour City, Tsim Sha Tsui, until 5 January 2025.

The exhibition ”Tove Jansson’s Forest of Art” is organized by Art and Piece and Zu and Pi in collaboration with Rights & Brands Asia and Moomin Characters. Together, they bring this unique cultural experience to Hong Kong, connecting local audiences with Tove Jansson’s timeless legacy and the enduring charm of the Moomins.

Highlights of the Exhibition: A Journey Through 80 Years of Moomin History

More than 70 art pieces are showcased at the ASCE Gallery, including Atelier Fauni’s Moomin figurines from the 1950s, the Elg & Elg children’s prints which were sold in limited print quantities in the 1960s, a Moomin advent calendar produced by Swedish Radio in 1973 and Moomin graphic art from over the years. There is also a section dedicated to local artists, showcasing how Tove Jansson has inspired their work.
