Soul Weaver

By Sami Makkonen

The new graphic novel by Sami Makkonen is a brilliant macabre spectacle where esotericism and folk beliefs merge with supernatural horror. The result is a stunning work of art.

It is time for the spring sowing. Markus hears that his mother’s health has worsened and travels to Hiisimäki, his family’s estate. Amid the black fields awaits a half-rotten house and a bundle of notes left by his aunt. Somewhere, there is also a book that would help understand the past and the future. On a nearby hill, something pagan and eerie is smouldering. On the very first night, wakefulness turns into a nightmare that, however, is not a dream…

Soul Weaver is a chilling, stunningly visual horror graphic novel about a forgotten village community deep in the Finnish wilderness.
