Jukka Viikilä

Jukka Viikilä (b. 1973) is a writer and playwright from Helsinki. He has graduated from the Theater Academy and has written numerous works of fiction, poetry, short prose and novels.

Viikilä’s first novel, Watercolors from a Seaside City, received the Finlandia Prize in 2016. The author received the prestigious award again in 2021 for his latest novel, The Heavenly Reception. This makes Viikilä one of three authors in the history of the prize to recieve the Finlandia twice.
