Ulla Rask Shortlisted for BookBeat’s ‘Newcomer of the Year 2025’
We are delighted to share that Ulla Rask is one of the six nominees for the Bookbeat Newcomer of the Year 2025 Award for Blanka, Daughter of the Baltic Sea.
The first title in Rask’s new series, Blanka, Daughter of the Baltic Sea opens a suspenseful, historical novel series that links together the Hanseatic League cities across the Baltic Sea region, perilous seafaring, love and people’s fates during the turbulent 17th century. It builds a picture of women who may have had no rights at the time but were in full possession of courage, ingenuity and the ability to love.
BookBeat’s awards is entirely data-driven and based on BookBeat’s statistics. This year the awards will be presented in three categories. The Newcomer of the Year Award is based on a combination of data on the number of times books have been started and listened to, as well as the average ratings given to the books by BookBeat’s Finnish users.
Winners will be announced at the Helsinki Book Fair on October 25th.
