Skultuna Celebrates 65 Years of Smurfiness

Today is the launch of a new brand collaboration from Skultuna: The Smurfs! The new collection celebrates the Smurfs’ 65th anniversary and features four of the most beloved Smurfs as gold-plated figurines.

Skultuna was founded in the year 1607 by King Charles IX of Sweden. Today, Skultuna is one of the oldest companies in the world and it is still a purveyor to the Royal Court of Sweden. For over 400 years Skultuna has produced objects of the highest quality for both everyday use and for special occasions.

The Smurfs were created in 1958 by cartoonist Peyo, Pierre Culliford  (1928-1992), and celebrates 65 years this year. For the anniversary, Skultuna has become an official partner of the Smurfs and has developed this new collection in close contact with IMPS, the licensor of the Smurfs.

Nicolas Tytgat, the grandson of Smurf creator Peyo, commented on the Skultuna Smurfs figurines:

“I really love them! I like the fact that even if they are small, we can see the little details. And the gold-plated steel really brings something to the product. I’m looking forward to being able to hold them in my hand!”

All four Smurf figurines are now available at Skultuna.
