A woman is hit by a high-speed train just outside Stockholm. All signs point to suicide, but the police soon realise that the woman has injuries not caused by the train – she’s missing a kidney. About the author

Jenny Rogneby is an author and criminologist, born in Ethiopia in 1974 and adopted to Sweden at the age of one. She grew up in the far north of Sweden, where her early talent for music led to formal training in piano and dance, eventually launching her first career as a pop artist.As her music career developed, Jenny became increasingly interested in human behavior and the psychological and societal forces behind our actions. This curiosity led to a degree in Criminology. She went on to work for seven years as a Criminal Investigator with the Stockholm City Police, handling a wide range of cases including theft, assault, sexual violence, and murder.Her experience in law enforcement sparked her transition into fiction writing, leading to her 2014 debut with Leona – The Die is Cast, the first in a best-selling crime series sold to 14 countries and optioned for film in the United States.In 2022, Jenny launched a new critically acclaimed crime trilogy featuring Angela Lans, a mediator determined to reform the justice system from within.
