The Robbersons and the Embarrassing Fan

Wild Carl, the bandit chief of the Robbersons, is showered in embarrassment when he gets pestered by an admirer and has to take swimming lessons.

The fun and action-packed series loved by middle-grade readers continues in the ninth instalment.

The annual Robbers’ summer festival has a new sport to compete in – water plunge. When the Robbersons start training for the competition, it turns out that Wild Carl can’t swim. He must take swimming lessons under the guidance of the Robbersons’ children.

Wild Carl is also harassed by a local newspaper reporter, who is a fan of bandits when she and her daughter start to stalk the Robbersons and publish exposés about them. These events lead the police to the Robbersons as they speed to the Robbers’ summer festival. Maybe inflatable toys would stop the police.

Siri Kolu (b. 1972) is a writer, dramatist, director and theatre instructor, which are among her many duties in the Finnish cultural field.She is a Finlandia Junior Prize winner and her works have been translated into 22 languages. Kolu has been awarded the Laivakello Prize by the Finnish Institute for Children’s Literature, and in the Netherlands, she won the Silver Slate Pencil.
