Trollheim: The Curse of Trollskog

By Ida Skjelbakken Arne Lindmo

Trollheim is a new extraordinarily illustrated and award-winning middle-grade series from Norway. A real page-turner, the books follow three children, Adam, Tara and Tobias, as they fight against creatures from the Norwegian myths and save the world from an ancient darkness. The three friends become a courageous trio who go on dangerous adventures that test their strength and friendship. This action-filled series also highlights relatable subjects for young readers: new friendships, feeling like an outsider, falling in love, and having a difficult time at home.

Tara’s parents want to buy a new cabin, but it’s suspiciously cheap. Tara volunteers to test the cabin for a week. She can’t wait to start her summer holiday with a cosy cabin trip together with her friends. She’s especially looking forward to being with Tobias. But the cabin hides a terrifying secret – a curse. And deep in Trollskog, far away from the nearest neighbour and with no mobile coverage, the group of friends begin to understand that something is dreadfully wrong …

This is the sixth book in the celebrated Trollheim series. The first book “The Secret of Castle Crow” was awarded the ARK children’s book prize, the first two books received the prize for best illustrations from the Ministry of Culture, and the fourth book “Vampires and Demons” was voted Best Book of the Year in Norli Junior’s reading competition.
