The Girl and the Raven

By Anne Muhonen

The Girl and the Raven is a thrilling adventure blending folklore and dystopia, steampunk and gothic. At its heart, it is a story of friendship and finding one’s own path.

Ellen’s spirit animal is a raven named Edgar, a true harbinger of doom who prefers to stay within the confines of their dilapidated home. But Ellen dreams of new places and adventures. If only she could gain wings in the New Day Update, she and Edgar could fly to the ends of the earth together. Yet, Ellen is still without wings. So, she and Edgar embark on a journey in a hot air balloon made from an old bathtub, heading towards the Renovation Hub. Their voyage, however, is anything but straightforward. When their peculiar neighbour Poe joins them, behaving oddly, and mysterious figures loom in the distance, challenges arise.
