Tua Harno

Author

Tua Harno (b. 1984) won a writing competition with her debut novel Those Who Stay (2013) – a strong, lyrical, beautifully written story about roots, family, and the songs of Leonard Cohen. She has an MA in drama from Helsinki’s Theatre Academy, and a law degree from the University of Helsinki.

Harno’s prose is defined by confidence, graceful narration, delicate characterization, and powerfully charged atmosphere. Her second novel Burnt Land was published in the US.

The author’s latest novel, Cold War Affairs, is a new breakthrough for Harno: a plot-driven cold-war thriller and a politically charged tale of family secrets. She has also written screenplays and is currently working on the film adaptation of Cold War Affairs.
